RON CURTIS

It is with much sadness we report the demise of another great bastion of the Company. Ron left us on Wed 6th December at the age of 94.

Ron started working at the Company as an Apprentice in 1944 in the newly established Craft School. In 1950 he commenced his 2 year National Service in the RAF.  On  returning to the Company he worked in the Electrical Department where he eventually became Foreman.

In that position he was responsible for the correct functioning of all electrical equipment supplied with the products manufactured by the Company. Ron left in 1966 to work for Indalex in Cheltenham.

In recent years we were able to make a number of audio recordings made by Ron, reflecting his time at the Company and the area in which he worked.  They are interesting to listen to and may be found on this link.

Ron’s funeral Service will take place at Gloucester Crematorium on Monday 8th January at 2.30pm.
