  • I recall a Fred Scattergood from Newent, as maintenance electrician on nights.
Have I got the right name?

Ed: Hi Nigel, hopefully someone will be able to answer this one. The only person I recall being on electrical maintenance nights was Bill Gittings, who lived at Pool Hill just outside Newent, and who used to give me a lift to work from time to time early ’60s when he was on days. John B

  • Electrical Maintenance: Les Hancock was foreman,
Terry Little, Roger Critchley, Robin Hood, Rich Webb
    & myself.
Electrical Production: Stan Willetts was foreman,
John Knight, Frank Kelly, George Hayward, Paul Miller & John Kemmett.
Electrical & mechanical maintenance both had a night shift.
Ed: Many thanks for that Mike. When I was an apprentice in the early ’60s I worked with Terry Little on production and Ron Curtis was production foreman at that time. John B (editor and website moderator).

  • I have just been informed today 01/08/2021 by Rich Webb that John Kemmett has passed away.
I first met John at Gloucester Technical College, Brunswick Road in 1964, after college had finished I lost contact with John. We then met up again at F & P, John was on the electrical production department and I was on the electrical maintenance department. John was a great guy.
Ed: Many thanks for your contribution, Mike. Do you recall the names of the people who were in the electrical department on maintenance & production at that time and did the maintenance still operate a night shift? John B
