MICHAEL STANBROOK

It is with deep regret that another name is to be added to this site.  Michael left us on July 3rd 2023 at the age of 82 after a short illness.

He joined the Company Apprentice Scheme in 1956 at the age of 15 and, having that Apprenticeship, he worked for a considerable time in the Heavy Machine Shop, mostly on the night shift. He then spent some time working on the Marking Off Table before leaving the Company in 1966.

The knowledge and skills he acquired during his time at F & P stood him in good stead when he moved on to take up several administrative positions in other local engineering companies.

Michael became ill in March 2023 and, after  periods in Southmead and Gloucester Royal Hospitals , he  returned home where he passed away, with his family around him. His funeral Service took place at Gloucester Crematorium on the 26th July.

In 2017 Michael was interviewed about his experiences with the Company. That interview, as well as a photograph of the 1956 Apprentice intake, can be found in the PEOPLE section  of our website.
