  • Hi John!  I don’t remember much about these balers, but notice that the first photo was taken in Hyd 1 and the 2nd in Hyd 2, with Pete Sutton at the controls. In the background on top of the metal cages are the angled wooden frames that we built the air circuit panels for the stone plant presses, of which I have a photo of that I ought to send in.  Chippy Aston.

  • Hi Chippy!  I seem to recall that I was in the D.O. Hydraulic section at the time these went through. They were designed specifically as ‘high speed’ balers, although I don’t recall many of this type being built. Very astute of you to spot the wooden frames and identifying their use!  Drop me a copy of the air circuit photo and I will upload it to the concrete machinery section.  John B
