Tools made during an apprenticeship 1949 - 1954
A selection of tools made by apprentices during the early years of their training.
These Tools were made by John Davis, most of them in the Craft School but others in the various shops he worked in.
The ‘foreigners’ were made on night shifts in the Light Machine Shop when the foreman was busy elsewhere!
As with other apprentices, he found them very useful during the rest of his time ‘on the shop floor’.

The last photo, recently added, illustrates these tools and other memorabilia that are now on display in the Museum of Gloucester, Brunswick Road, from 27th April 2024.
