  • Hi John!  The fitter in the top photo is Vic Holtham, I’m sure. (Ed. Quite correct). I built another one of these presses in the early 1970’s in the ‘new’ fitting shop. I had an awful lot of problems levelling up the main frame and I have a feeling, from what I remember of the time, that maybe someone or other in the shop had tampered with the spirit level I was using! Eventually I got it all sorted out and the build went ahead ok, but the levelling problem caused me a lot of worries at the time!    Chippy Aston
