In this audio clip John Davis talks to Ollie Taylor about this 350 ton Vertical Extrusion Press which was purchased by Johnson Matthey, the precious metal dealers.
The photograph shows the machine sited in Hydraulic 1 for testing. Roy Pegler, Chief Designer, is at the controls. Roy also lectured at Gloucester Technical College.
John subsequently went to the customer’s site with Brian Bowsher, Acceptance Engineer, to install some extra equipment on the machine.
