  • I have mentioned elsewhere on the website that when I was apprenticed to John Mabbett in Hydraulic 2, we built a Dynapak. To test the one we built, we had a set of dies for ‘Mini clutch plates’ (as in the car). The press went off with a loud BANG and you could not see the ram moving, only the movement afterwards of the whole main casting as it bounced on its airbag suspension! The clutch plates were formed in less than a second.
