ANOTHER REUNION

On Saturday morning, 7th March 2020, a reunion for former F&P employees took place. This was in the form of a Coffee Morning and was held at the Gloucestershire Heritage Hub. Approximately 36 attended. Apologies for absence were received from Roger Beard and Chris Farley … self-service tea, coffee and biscuits were enjoyed by all.

In the afternoon an enjoyable talk was given  on the history of Dowty by Archivist Ally Mc Connell. After a short break for more refreshments, a film, made in 1966 to commemorate the Centenary of Fielding & Platt and recently edited, was shown. A part-commentary by John Bancroft has been added to the film. To complete the proceedings, an audio recording with photographs, was presented. It featured the memories of John Davis of his experiences in the  Apprentice (Craft) School.
