Here you can listen to memories and see photographs of the Heavy Machine Workshop, or Heavy Machine Shop as it was known.
Those who worked on the machines there were known as Machinists. They were highly skilled at setting up and working on the enormous lathes and planers there which they used to manufacture the larger components needed to build Fielding and Platt's presses, balers, and other large machinery for which the company was renowned.
If you worked in the Heavy Machine Shop you can also add your own memories to the pages here by adding a comment at the bottom of each one.
