It’s interesting that both you and Norman went to Fieldings from the Crypt School – did the school encourage you to go for the apprenticeships?

I take it that you didn’t follow Dennis to Fielding’s yourself? I wonder, though, if you can remember whether any other lads in your school went to Fielding’s and what sort of things they said about the prospect of doing so when you left in 1954?!
Glad to have been recognised! Some other names… On the back row, Ray Collier is on the left hand side and Gerald Moore is third from the right hand side. On the front row, Tony Blunt is on the left hand side.
Norman Bidmead was also from the Crypt School. Brings back some good memories.
Back row on the right hand side is Dennis Baker. We lived in the same road and left the Crypt School in Spring 1954.
