From the 1st photograph, note the stack of gunmetal bush castings awaiting machining!
From the 2nd photograph, a distant view of the rear of the ‘new type’ 3 column, 3 mould slab press, located behind a vertical (unknown) press under construction. To the right in the pit, possibly the assembly of a Sparcatron Spark Erosion machine.

Hi John! In the 2nd photo I remember some faces/names. On the right hand side is Ralph Evans(?) with his arms out, talking to maybe John Pickernell, working on the spark erosion machine is John Browning with a young Brian Taylor looking on. I’m still working on who the others are/could be. Looks like someones ‘black box’ in the packing crate ready to go to site, I wonder whose box that was way back then? I know it wasn’t mine!
