  • My uncle, Archie Sinclair, was an apprentice. Probably late 1930s. He was always proud of having been an apprentice there.

    “My father Harry Ashmead & uncle William Ashmead
    were both apprentices at your factory in about
    1911-1918.
    My father moved to Tewkesbury later to work at
    Thomas Walker & Sons who made Fairground products, eg. merry-go-rounds galloping horses!”
