'Fielding & Platt Ltd' Printing Block, with the logo of the time!

These are a couple of things that I made from scrap items during my time in Hydraulic 2. The first photo is a pair of candle sticks made from H3 pump suction valves with brass tops made from old stone plant ‘top drainage’ vacuum fittings. The second photo is an ashtray made out of a ‘small end’ bearing taken from an H3 pump. A somewhat heavy ashtray I must say, not that it gets used now as neither of us smoke any more!   Chippy Aston.

I think I found the Fielding & Platt printing block in a box of things that were being dumped at the time I was made redundant in 1981. This block is now a piece of history, I’m sure there aren’t many of those about!
