FIELDING & PLATT REUNION 2018

This year the F & P Heritage Group organised the event for June 23rd at Hardwicke Village Hall, between 1pm and 4pm. Former colleagues and their partners numbered approximately 60. The oldest former colleague present was Philip Cook, who started his apprenticeship in 1938. Drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic were available at the bar and a finger buffet, organised and delivered by Dulcie and Alistair Adams was enjoyed.
The usual photographic boards and photo album were once again displayed. In addition, a film of a Sports Day from the late 40’s/early 1950’s was shown, as well as some digital stories that had been created as a result of the original project. Key rings incorporating an F & P logo were on sale as well as photographs of the 2017 reunion, Sudbrook Crossing and an aerial view of the factory site.
Ollie Taylor welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending.  Brian Mince read out the name of former colleagues who had passed away since our last reunion. These were, Harold Edwards, Brian Rose, Brian Bloomfield, Roy King and Ernie Gill. A few moments silence was then observed.
Dulcie Adams, once again organised the ‘signing in’ process and a collection bucket for funds for future events was circulated by Lorraine Tidmarsh and Margaret Clifton, (née Hancock) Grateful thanks to all three.
