This major order for a 16MN Aluminium Extrusion Press commenced at the beginning of 1993, that included the project management, supply, installation and commissioning of the major elements comprising an aluminium extrusion plant capable of producing 3000 tonnes/year of extruded profiles.

The first photograph records the signing of the contract at the offices of Lama Petroleum Ltd., Admirals Way, Canary Warf, London on the 20th Jan. 1993. The value of the order was £2.85M.

The extrusion press was delivered to Damascus on a low loader by Richard Dunkerley transport and the remaining equipment was supplied in 40′ 0″ open top containers.

Following installation of the plant during 1995 and subsequent commissioning, a delegation of key people representing the suppliers travelled to Syria on 15 Jan. 1996, for 7 days, to review and undertake remedial work on all aspects of the plant prior to signing-off at the end of the warranty period. The second and third photographs on this page record the people on that visit.
