  • Hi John! Yes, I was working on it for about two years. One night I was cutting through a piece of very large hollow aluminium and the hot saw ripped open my chest. The hot saw slipped out of my hand and I had 20 stitches. No Health and Safety in those days – we just got on with the job!

Ed: James, many thanks for the story. I am glad that you survived the incident and lived to tell the tale! Hopefully, no lasting effects. John B

  • I started working for Indalex in 1971, I was a lead-out man, known as a hot-saw man, loved the job!

  • Hi James!  Glad you found the site and many thanks for your contribution.  How long did you work at the ‘sharp end’ and have you any other memories to add?  John B
