The first two photos show clearly two pan coilers at the front of the press. These coilers rotated, collecting the extruded rod and coiling the rod into each pan.

“I was scanning some of my fathers old transparencies and came across three photos of this press being repainted and refurbished around 1980.
I looked at your website and found the second picture, No. 5053, showing my father, Alf Hume, working at the front of the press.
In later years he became Head of Maintenance at McKechnie Metals”.
