1500 ton Horizontal Extrusion Press, view taken during erection c.1940, O/No. 8738, c.1939

Installed in No.2 (West) Plant.

For manufacture of solid aluminium extrusions.

Equipped with 150 ton vertical shear, working pressure 3500 psi from a centralised 370 gal capacity air/water hydraulic accumulator station, also supplied by Fielding & Platt.

(The erection of this press was undertaken in Bay 3 of Hydraulic 1).
