Saturday 23rd June, 13.00-16.00

The annual ex-staff reunion at Hardwicke Village Hall.  You can find extra details by following this link.

Saturday 25th August, 10.00-16.00

The F&P Heritage Group will have a stall and display at Gloucester’s Retro Day, probably in King’s Walk (this venue to be confirmed).  All are welcome to come and say hello and find out more about the Company.

Sunday 2nd September, 10.00-16.00

Gloucestershire Archives, off Alvin St (GL1 3DW), is hosting an Open Day at which the F&P display will be on view, possibly accompanied at times to be confirmed by members of the Heritage Group.  Some of the Digital Stories that the Archives and its volunteers have created over the last decade will be shown during the Day (times to be confirmed), and these will include some F&P Stories.  All are welcome to drop-in and entry is free.

Thursday 6th September, 13.45-15.00

Voices of Fielding & Platt

A different take on the history of Gloucester’s celebrated engineering Company.  After a short historical overview and examination of some of the internationally significant 19th Century orders, former employees will share their personal experiences of working for the Company, bringing the social history of Fielding & Platt to life as never before.

This event will probably occur at Gloucestershire Archives, off Alvin St, GL1 3DW (to be confirmed).  Entry is free, but you are asked to pre-book (details to be confirmed).

Thursday 6th September, 15.30-16.45

Supplying the World: Three Fielding & Platt promotional films

During the 1950s and 1960s Fielding & Platt’s film unit produced a range of promotional films which provide a fascinating insight into working practices in this significant local engineering company.  We will introduce and see An Introduction to Fielding and Platt, Paving the World, and At Full Stretch (about the development of Concorde!).

This event will probably occur at Gloucestershire Archives, off Alvin St, GL1 3DW (to be confirmed).  Entry is free, but you are asked to pre-book (details to be confirmed).

Coffee morning for former employees, held at Gloucestershire Archives, off Alvin St, GL1 3DW.  Parking will be available on site.
